For members wishing to have their partner benefit from a membership  to take advantage of the benefits granted to members (e.g. travel insurance)  This type of membership is also advantageous because the activities are generally more expensive for non-members. In addition, both persons who are members of the Association may vote in elections and run for elective office.

Annual Membership Fee
A contribution of $72.60 per year, or $6.05 per month through the deduction of contributions at source from your pension (RCS). As the Montreal Branch of the Federal Retirees is a volunteer organization, we strongly encourage payment by deduction of contributions at source (RCS) as we save everyone significant resources, time, correspondence, stamps, etc.

PAYMENT METHODS

The Dues Deduction at Source (DDS) payment

Members can have their contributions deducted in monthly instalments directly from their pension payment, provided they sign the form authorizing Public Works and Government Services Canada to deduct their contributions at source from their pension. This payment option is optional, but is highly recommended for its ease of administration, security of process and lower management costs compared with payment by cheque.  However, it can be revoked at any time, simply by notifying the National Office of Federal Retirees.

This authorization can be found on the membership form, and must be completed if you wish to choose this method of payment.

For more information to pay or to switch to DDS, please click on the link hereafter: DDS

Important note: The DDS does not apply to members in receipt of a pension as RCMP survivors, retired judges or survivors of retired judges. The same applies to associate members. Payment by cheque is the only method of payment possible. .

Payment by cheque

Members may prefer to pay their dues by cheque rather than by monthly deduction at source, in which case they must issue a cheque to Federal Retirees for the amount corresponding to the type of membership chosen. It is the responsibility of the member who chooses this option to ensure that, in order to continue to enjoy the benefits associated with membership of the association, the membership fee is paid before the expiry of the membership. A reminder by regular mail or e-mail will still be sent for annual renewal.
